AI is changing so rapidly that nobody really knows anything. In this session Ilya Gogin, Director of Product Management at Pearson invites you become an expert AI prototyper by learning simple hands-on techniques to revamp your own English classroom.
This webinar provides an overview of how to use AI in the classroom, with a focus on using AI as a prototyping tool. The speaker first goes over the UNESCO AI competency framework for teachers, which outlines 15 competencies for teachers around AI. He then cherry-picks a couple of quotes from the framework to highlight the importance of teachers being creators of AI and using AI to transform their pedagogy.
Ilya then goes over four choices that he made for this webinar, which are:
- There will be lots of rapid-fire demos of many different tools.
- The session is meant to be watched and rewatched.
- All AI concepts will be taught very casually.
- The session contains a unit of progression, which is a syllabus that contains course description, scope and sequence, units of progression, topics covered, edms, and activities.
He then demonstrates how to create a custom GPT for himself, which can generate an entire lesson for him. He also shows how to create custom gamified apps using CLA artifacts, which can be shared digitally with students. He also shows how to use other AI tools, such as Deep dive, to learn about AI with AI.
